Problem 696.
Our readers will remember that Problem 696, by Mr Thus. Sexton, proved to be defective. The author now sends the correct position, as follows :— White— X at QBB,Q at Q R sq, Rooks at KR 5 and X Xt 6, Bishops at Q B 7- and Q Xt 5, Kb at X B 3 and Q B sq, Pawns at X B 5, X 4, Q 2, and Q B 4.
Black— X at QB4,QatKB7. EatQ B 6, Fawns at KKt2,E 83, and QKt 5. White to play and mate in two moves. Answers to Correspondents. Correct solution of Problem 700 received from GE, Kaitangata ; HB 0, Roslyn. Solution of Pboblkm 700 i Key move— l Qtoß 8. T Sexton, Ashurst.— Thanks for problem and game j both are utilised in this issue. G Baynes, Kaitangata.— Your solutions of Problems 701 and 702 are both incorrect.
