AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

London, July 27. In consequence of rain the match Australians v. Yorkshire was not begun until today, when Yorkshire went in and were all disposed of for 107. July 28.

In consequence of continued rain the match had to be abandoned. In the first innings of Yorkshire, Ulyett played a dashing innings for 48. Peel (24) and Hall (11) were the other principal scorers. Turner was very effective, and secured five wickets for 23 runs ; Ferris, three for 36 ; and Worrall, two for 21.

The Australians in their innings were soon disposed of for 48 runs, Trott, being highest scorer- with 28. M'Donnell was hurt during the previous innings, and was unable to bat. Peel secured sis wickets for 39 runs ; Preston, three for 5. Yorkshire in their,, second innings had lost nine wickets for 49 runs, the principal scores being Peel (14), Wainwright(l6).' ' . July 30.

The match Australian Eleven against Surrey commenced to-day at Kennington Oval. The county team went in first, and had scored 92 for the loss of six wickets, when play was stopped by the rain.

Woods played for the Australians instead of Blackham, and Lyons also stood out. The wicket was very slow, and favoured the bowlers. Surrey's score so far is — Abel 15, Shuter 0, Bowden 9, M. Read 0, W. W. Read 18, Key (not out) 32, Wood 10, Lohmann (not out) 8 ; — total for six wickets, >2.

Key (46) and Lohmann (22) were the principal scorprs. , % Turner took five wickets for 52 runs. Woods four for 44, and Ferris one for 35. The colonials followed on, and when the stumps were drawn had lost two wickets for 33 runs, towards which O'Donnell Contributed a dashing 23 ; Bannerman. (not out), 6 ; Bonnor (not out), 4 ; Trott, 0.
