As was only to be expected after his recent performances, the six days' walking competition on Saturday (says the Sportsman of June 11) resulted in an easy victory for Scott, the Australian, who wop, by nearly 20 miles. He took the lead at the outset and retained it to the end." Scott covered 300 miles in 61hr 15min lOsec, and the same distance was traversed by Owers in 64hr 28min lOsec, and by Clarkson in 64hr 49min 15sec. Additional attraction was lent by a boxing competition, and there was a large company present in the evening, Scott being the great attraction. Ac the conclusion he was loudly cheered for his prowess, his victory being very popular. The concluding scores were :—
