THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND.
(Pee Pbbss Association.) London, May 18. The cricket match between Oxford University and the Australian Eleven was commenced to-day at Oxford. In the first innings Oxford scored 102, and the Australians lost six wickets for 160, M'Donnell being not out with 88. Owing to the rain the match was not finished. May 19. The cricket match between the Oxford University and the Australian Eleven was resumed to-day. The Australians in their first innings made 208, out of which M'Donnell, who was not out on the previous day, scored 104. In their second innings the University were disposed of for the small score of 87, thus leaving the visitors victors by one innings and 19 runs. Alex. Bannerman injured his knee in the match against Oxford University yesterday, and will be unable to play for some time. May 21. The match between Yorkshire and the Australian Eleven began to-day. The county team went first to the wickets, and scored 125. When the stumps were drawn for the day the Australians had lost seven wickets for 259 runs. Bonnor is top scorer with 94 ; Blackh'am contributed 37.
