J. W.— The tre-itment of (his disease depends en tirely on its cause. It is often nature's effort to expel some irritant lodged in the intestinal caDal, or to eliminate 'omo poison or impurity contained in the blood ; but. when this action is unduly prolonged, it establishes .'i relaxed condition of tbe secreting membrane of the intestine, and requi'es to be corrected by administering 4dr catechu, loz ginger, loz gentieii. Joz tincture opium, given in » p nt of thin gruel at night, and -Idr of sulphate of iron given in a bottle of ale in fie morning. Repeat the medicine for two or three days if necessary ; withhold all green or succulent food ; and give good, well-g-it hay or chaff, with a Httle sound old bruised oats mixed with it.
