LAND AND WATER.
A match has been arranged between W. D Bean, the present holder of the three and ten mile championships of New Zealand, and W. Brown, the English amateur. The distance will ,be three miles, and the prize a handsome trophy, presented by a prominent bicyclist, and will take place at Lancaster Park, Christchurch, on Monday evening next, on tho occasion of, Fred Wood's farewell race meeting. Great interest is taken in the glove contest which takes place on Saturday night next at the Princess Theatre between Tommy Williams and Dick Ellis. Both men are iv active training. Mr Parker is looking after Ellis, while Williams had his brother accompanying him.
