Christchurch Cup Matches.

Ohristchuuch, October 23.

The sixth year of the Senior and fourth of the Junior cup matches began on Saturday. Lancaster Park have one eleven and two fifteens in the Senior competition, the United and Midland one eleven and one fifteen, and Addington one fifteen. There are ten teams for the Junior cup. The Lancaster Eleven, who are strong favourites for the Senior cap, dismissed the United Eleven for 59, of which E. Cotterill raade24 and M'Dowell. 13 (not out). W. Frith got six wickets for 29 runs, and Cuff three wickets for 11 runs. The Park's first two men, Orawshaw, and Fowke are not out with 66 and 36. The Lancaster Third team met the United Second and scored 233 (Labatte 69). These matches will probably be postponed on account of the amateur sports on October 29 and trotting meeting on November 5. The Midland Eleven scored 60 (Rayner 15) against Addington Fifteen, who have lost nine wickets for 99 runs (Atkinson 23, Halley, not out, 17).
