WYNDHAM.
Octobeh If. — General satisfaction ia expressed hßre at the accession bf '* our member to the Government benches. He is tindotibtedly A thoroughly practical man; and is well qualified for the position that has been accorded to him. County Council.— The exbitement of the Parliamentary elections has barely passed away before the approaching general county elections are upon us,,and frond all accounts the electors in the Toi^Tois riding will have a plethora of candidates io choose from. So far Messrs G. G. Fyfo and John Spratt have both publicly consented to nomination, and Messrs L. W. Raymond and Hugh Carswell have been largely requisitioned, and will certainly be in the field. These two have devoted much time to public matters, and their future actions can be fairly gauged on that account. Although the feeling of returning one or other to represent their particular end bf tMe district should not exist, it does to a certain e£fce'ii t, d,nd ib will be extremely difficult to say how the election will end.
