THE MELBOURNE WOOL SALES.
(Reuter's Telegrams.') Melbourne, October 13. Messrs Goldsbrough and Co. (Limited) held their second wool sale of the season yesterday, at which there was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers, and the competition was excellent ; 2500 bales were offered, chiefly composed of greasy in good condition, from Riverina. Inferior to good greasy ruled from 6£d to 9|d, and inferior to ordinary scoured from lOd to 14d ; 2400 bales were sold. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their usual wool sale to-day. There was a large attendance of buyers, including representatives of Home and foreign houses, the former operating freely. The market ruled lower than the opening sale last year, but the tone was much firmer and competition more spirited than last week. Prices generally ranged comparatively higher than those obtained in the Home market. 19,000 bales were offered for sale ; greasy wool realising Hid, and scoured Hid per lb,
