WAIKAIA
Junk24.— Our jubilee festivities took the form of a concert and children's treat. The former was held on Monday, and was in aid of the school playshed, the erection of which is an idea of the newlyelecled school committee. The concert proved a great success. A lengthened programme was got through, the performers being Mesdames Lytfcle and Garvey, and Misse3 Cameron, B. Collie, J. Collie, Hardma'n, and Reynolds ; also, two sets of the small school girls. The male portion comprised Messrs Brown, Taylor, Brown, Lyttle, Garvey, Fyfe, Lyod, Cottew, and Perry. The various songs, glees, readings, and'dances were got through in a very creditable manner. The entertainment realised £20 odd, which when addfd to the amount of subscriptions should prove sufficient to build a good playshed. The School Trkat.— On Tuesday ;the youngsters assembled at 12 o'clock sharp, and after^demolishinga goodly proportion of the good things provided. ,by the parents and friends they went out to their games and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. In the evening a stupendous bonfire was lit and a large quantity of fireworks let off in honour of the Queen.
