LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs Maitland (chief commissioner), Logan, Clark, and Duncan. "WAKATIPU. The Government having accepted the surrender of Run 9, Wakatipu, the board fixed the new term at 14 years, and the rental at £15 per annum, BENGER. The Tuapeka County Council recommended that a road should be made through the south corner of section 11, block XII, Benger, or that a separate portion be sold to Mr Lundy, the adjoining proprietor. — Resolved to mark off- the road when a survey is forwarded by the county council. MOUNT HYDE. Mr W. L. Simpson, on behalf of Alexander Carnie, Hindon, appied to graze stock over section 21, block 11, and section 14, block VII, Mount Hyde, on condition of his keeping down the rabbits. — Resolved, as the land is within a Hundred, that the request be not granted. BLACKSTONE. On the 'application of John Graham, it was resolved to reconr/me.nd the Government to set apart sections 8 anrt 9, block XIII, Blackstone, for perpetual leasing, The Warden at Naseby reported on the application by J. L. Farquhar to take up section 5, block 111, Blackstone, under agricultural lease or to purchase. He recommended that the section be withdrawn from sale or lease for six months, as there is a track through it which must be kept open until the road is constructed. — Recommendation agreed to. The Government having withdrawn sections 4 and 5, block X, Blackstone, from 6ale on the deferred-payment system, Mr Simpson asked that they be proclaimed open for absolute sale. — It was agreed to advertise the land as open for application. TABLE HILL. Mr Finlayson having requested that the the runs marked sections 30 and 57, block IV, Table Hill, should not be dealt with until his clients had an opportunity of protecting their interests, the warden states that the assignee in bsnkruptcy has assigned all interest in the license to Messrs Garden and M'Corkindale, and recommends that the license be transferred to them. Consideration deferred for a week. H. B. Flett applied to complete his purchase of section 26, block VI, Table Hill.— Approved. KAWAEAD. Mr J. F, Healey. for L. D. Hanson, applied to

have section 5, biock 3, Kawarau, brought under the deferred-payment system and the provisions of the special village settlement.— The board had no power to alter the system. Writer to be informed that if the applicant has only an interest in one acre he is in a position to take up a section under special settlement conditions.

KUROW.

Ranger Valpy reported that if D. Scott was allowed four months' time he would likely be able to pay arrears of rent due on section 12, block V, Kurow.— The board resolved to consider the matter when the arrears are paid.

TheN. Z. and Australian Land Co. applied to purchase section 10, block IV, Kurow. — Approved.

WENDON.

The Receiver of Land Revenue intimated that W. M. Cooper had paid the interest due by him on his deferred-payment lease at Wendon. He suggested that the resolution forfeiting his lease be rescinded. — Agreed to.

A petition was received from a number of miners at Waikaia and Wendon asking that sections 74, 75, and 76, block I, Wendon, be withdrawn from sals and opened for mining purposes.— Referred to the school commissioners.

LAUDER.

John Peters applied to exchange the deferredpayment lease of section 14, block IV, Lauder, for a perpetual lease.— Granted.

DUNSTAN.

Mr W. L. Simpson, on behalf of the licensee of Run 228 a, called attention to the fact that Patrick Tully had taken possession of and fenced about 200 acres of the run. He asked that steps be taken to eject, him. — Resolved that the licensee take action himself.

WAIKAKA.

J. Reid and Sons applied to lease five acres, being part of section 29, block VI, Waikaka, for coal mining. — Referred to the ranger for report.

MID-WAKATIPU.

N. Maloney applied, under section 220 of « The Land Act 1885," for a license to occupy sections 8, 9, and 16, block XVI, Mid-Wakatipu, for seven years. — License granted at £5 per annum, with £1 Is license fee.

SURRENDERS.

The following surrenders of perpetual leases were accepted : — J. C. Harrington, sections 11, 12 and 18, block IV, Lauder ; N. Bruce, sections 81 and 82, Waitahuna East.
