FOUL LINEN AGAIN.

Two athletes — Messrs Graham and Connor have been figuring in the Police Court during the week, the cause being an assault alleged to have been committed by Connor upon his trainer Graham. It appears that Graham considered he had sufficient grounds to warrant an assumption that the recent Greco-Roman contest between Cannon and Connor was a matter of arrangement, and on challenging Connor about it the latter retorted that he had been " got at " by some person interfering with his refreshments ; the natural inference being that Graham was the culprit. Some more words were bandied, and eventually on Graham asking for his wages for training he was' offered the munificent sum of £4 as an equivalent for three •weeks' hard graft. Upon making the remark that he would make Connor a present of such an amount' as that, a squabble ensued, in the course of which Connor "butted" Graham in the mouth with his head, loosening two of his teeth. On being summoned for the assault he was fined £10; the bench Beemingly expressing their opinion that it was a case of Arcades ambo by refusing Graham's solicitor an application for costs. These wrestling people are far from clever. There was another good " gate " to bfe got out of a " final match between Cannon and Connor for the championship of the world, and £00.000 ;" but the recent txpose has effectually squelched all that.
