WAIKOIKOI.
•January 10.— Our usual New Year sports were very successful this year, notwithstanding the fact that a slight shower was the means of keeping a few people away who would otherwise have attended. The various events were well contested, and a most enjoyable day was passed. Agriculture. — The crop's have been suffering somewhat for want of rain, but relief is beiug experienced, a heavy shower falling while I write.
