ally the yqungsters, a thoroughly pleasant day was passed. I.O.O.F.— This body held their half-yearly meeting on Wednesday last. There was no lack of candidates for the chairs for the ensuing term, and the following brothers were elected :— N.G., Bro. Cannar ; V.G., Bro. Grierson ; secretary, Bro. J. Has>tie ; treasurer, P.G. Bro, A. Balneaves. The lodge is to be congratulated on its selection of officers for the term, and also on the state of its finances, which are in a satisfactory condition. Our School — The committee met one night last week for the purpose of selecting a candidate out of th« number of applicants for the post of head teacher of the school. The selection fell on Mr Macandrew, of YVaitahuna, who has been resident teacher in that district for a number or years. Dairy Factory. — Another attempt is being made to establish a dairy factory.
