The Tuapeka Caledonian. Society held their anuual sports on the recreation ground, Lawrence, yesterday. The day was suitable for outdoor sports, not being so hot as it had been for days past. There were between 800 and 1000 present, besides a large number outside. The booths kept by Messrs J, Johnson, k. McDonald, and Lorimer (fruit) all appeared to do a fair trade. The Kaitangata Band was present, and their playing gave general ' satisfaction. The Btswards are to be commended for the pushing way they got off the different events.
