UppermUl, Tarves, Scotland. His dam, Jess, was a pure Clydesdale, a great prize-taker, of immense bone and linn symmetry. His' sire, that far-famed horse Lord Haddon; which has gained a large number of prizes in all the principal show-rings of Scotland, full particulars of which will be found in the Witness of the 17th and 24th October. What's Wanted, when a yearling, In 1873, gained first honours at Inverary. and the second prize at Aberdeen. When three years old he won the Royal Northern Society's first prize, and the same year he gained the Auchtermuchty firßt prize of £55, beating a field of 173 horses.
