Lake county Afairs.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Arrow, August 3.
At the meeting of the County Council held yesterday, it was resolved to serve the late clerk with a notice that unless he produce the missing rate book within 20 days, he would be criminally prosecuted for the loss of it. The late clerk was also threatened that unless he refunded a sum of money, about £95, collected by him as rates, forthwith, legal proceedings for its recovery would be taken. The other proceedings of the council were of an uninteresting nature.
