The proceeds of last winter's. readings were handed over to che Cumvkry Trustees for tho improvement of the local bin ia'.ground. This year it has been decided to tluvoto the proceeds to a f-chool p'enio fund by means of which the St-hol'ars attending the- Puerua school may be provi<lt;<l with a good trout on some fitting and future occasion. The second entertainment of this year w.vs held la-t Frid iy evening, the attendance being remarkably good considering the fact that a heavy rain came on just before the time most people were aboub to leave their homes. This chair was occupied by Mr Jas. A.
