Tone i"b tinner. Catalogued up to date about 180,000 bales, of which withdrawn about 15 per cent., taken for export about- 50 per cent."

Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oompuny (Limited) report having re eived the following telegram from their London office, dated April ll:—"0 :— " tjince the opening of the wool sales the market hns been steady, aud competition by both Home and foreign buyers is fairly active. The following decline in prices has taken place : —Medium and inferior greasy, from £d to Id per lb ; superior greasy (scoured and washed), id per lb; fine crossbred medium, £d per lb. For course crossbred tho market is easier, and in lambswool it is unchanged, except for faulty lots, which have, declined from *d to Id per lb. The total quantity catalogued to date is 171,000 bales, of which 25,000 have been withdrawn."
