WAIEAHI.
January 27. — Refreshing showers full throughout Sunday night, and continued at intervals on Monday. Saturday and Sunday were among the hottest days of the season, but Monday whs cold. There i.s every appearance of further rain. The farmers have been busy getting their grass seed in. Wool Ims been arriving at the station in fair quantities. There is no talk of taking it, to Dunedin by the. road.
Church Ai-taihs. — The following gentlemen were elected on the Presbyterian Church Committee: — Messrs Bain, Campbell, Macaudrew, Taylor, and W. Young. They hold office, for a year, and have to f.iee a gradually decreasing levenuts.
Ci-.Mr.rKRY. — Mr W. Young ha^ resigned the secretaiysbip of the Cemetery Trust, and Mr J. Turubull has been elected in his place. A vote of thanks to Mr Young was placed on the minutes for his past valuable services.
School. — The attendance at the school is increasing. A letter from tbo master to the committee states that it is now up to 4(J, 1 believe the boys are going in for hard cricket practice, to be ready to meet the Pukerau boys in the field on Saturday.
