For the first time since its initiation the show of live, stock, &c, und>T the auspices of the above association was on Tuesday treated to anything but favourable weather. Up till midday a bitterly cold strong wind prevailed, accompanied with frequent drizzling and occasional heavy showers of rain. As a consequence the attendance of visitors was not so numerous as that of former years. As tho day wore on, however, the weather moderated considerably, and with the exception of the disagreeably strong wind, no objection could be found on this score. The attendance could not have been less than 500, a number considerably less than that of former years. The ground was in capital order, and pens were provided for a mw^h larger number of exhibits than turrjed In the leading classes of exhibits thoua were 245 as compared with 213 exhibits iast year, but the total number wa.s 30^ as against 334, the falling off being in agricultural produce and pigp .
