LJune 8. I/iCBNSiNs Mbbtino.— The annual meetlnsr of the ■ Portobello Uconiing Committee was held on Juno 6 at the Koad office, Portobello. Present— Me sib J. Mair (chairman), T, Potterflold, J. Youn;, W. Qarrick, and W. A. Wiisin. The Committee congratulated the conB^ble on the abaence of druakeineaa in the distriolij Mm Coneyj, the licensee of the Portobello Family Ho 'el, wag ?r*nfcel a renewal of the license for the year, the police report being of a favourable nature The previous arrangement with reference to keeping the light burning was renewed An application for'j tbo use of a r jom for tho Froemawns to hold their * meeting* In wm granted, subject to thd conditions laid down in 'hi Act. An account for the clerk's salary was certified to by tho Chairman.
