STIFLE JOINT LAMENESS.
Ploughboy, writes :— I have a line young cplt that has been lame in the near stifle joint since harvest. I have blistered it with one of James' blisters, which seems to have done no good at all, and now that the swelling has gone down it looks as if the bone is out of joint. Can you tell me what to do? What makes me think that tho bone is out of joint is that when you put your linger on the joint you can feel a reparation between the bones.
The symptoms you describe aro peculiar to this sort of lameness, the limb when the animal stands is generally bent, and is in a particular position, so that the surfaces of the bones aro separated and prevented from pressing against each other. There is < no doubt the joint is diseased, and if such is the case treatment in of very little avail, it ia better to let the animal take its course, and as it has youth and a good constitution on its side the lameness may in time pass away considerably.
