Chiustchurch, December 14th.

In the 1.0. G.T. Grand Lodge at Rangiora last night, the report on the relation of the Order to the Licensing Act was adopted, containing the following :—" It is competent at the election of a licensing committee to raise the question of license or no license, or any other question relating to the working of the Act. Good Templars should accept seats on licensing committees with a view to the exercise of the restrictive and prohibitory powers conferred by the Act, but the formal signing of a license by any Good Templar who may bo chairman of a licensing committee shall not be deemed to be a violation of his obligation." An important report was adopted relating to the better working of the Order. To-day the Lodge is engaged in the consideration of funds, the measures to be taken for the adjustment of finance, and the inor» vigorous prosecution of temperance work. Chuistchukch, December 15th. At the meeting of the Grand Lodge of Good Templars at Rangiora yesterday, a resolution was parsed levying a special assessment of 2d per member per quarter to augment the Grand Lodge funds bo a3 to allow the work t lecturing to be proceeded with. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as fol-' lows :— G.W.C.T., Bro. J. A. Efford, Christchurch; G.W.C., Bro. K. Sands, Geraldine ; G.W. Vice, Bro. A. P. Bennett, Wellington ; G.W. Sec, Bro. D. C. Cameron, Dunedin (reelected) ; G.W. Treasurer, Bro. W. Carr, Dunedin (re-elected) ; G.W. Chaplain, Rev, R. Tout, Rangiora; G.W.M.,8r0. Shrimpton. Kaiapoi; G.S.J.T., Bro. E. G. Allsworth, Wanganui. The installation was conducted by the W.G. Templar of Australasia, Bro. J, W. Jago. Last night Mr Jago delivered a lecture on Temperance. This morning the formal business was concluded, and the Lodge adjourned to meet at Oatnaru in Easter week, 1883.
