Mr J. F. Watson reports for the week ending 29fch March :—
Itcefton.— The Welcome Company's mine is looking well, and the reef has been proved of great extent, which makes this property more valuable than ever. — The Golden Treasuro Company are crushing. — The Fiery Cross Company are driving on the low level to reach the underlie of the lode — The Keop-it-Dark = Company have highly payable quartz in the low level, the width of reef being about Oft. Tfte result of the month's crushing was 4620z of retorted gold from 530 tons of stone, and a dividend of 6d per 20,000 th share •• was decla*ed, and now that the debts are paid larger dividends may be looked for.— The Kesulfc Company are driving to intercept the line of reef on NNt 4o t 4 level; V —The Wealth of Nations Company have increased their number of shares from 6500 £5 shares to 32,500 £1 shares. The Hopeful Gold-mining Company have also increased their number of shares from 8250 W ! 24,750 —The Golden Point Company are pushing on with their low-level tunnel, and the latest telegraphic advice states that the mine is doing well.— The Imperial Company are still sinking the winze, and the reef is the full width of the structure.— The South > Hopeful Company are still driving on the reef. .Tho.,, Specimen Hill Company's reef is from 3ft to Bft, and '< shows gold freely. — The Just-in-Time Company are', crushing the stone they have at grafs.— The Inkerman' Company will shortly obtain a 30 head battery. Pro- 1 ' specting for coal is being continued, and the contrac- ; tors are progressing with the low level. Lyell. -The United Alpine Company's return was 2270z of amalgam from IDS tons of stone, from plates <"iily.— The Crcosus Company's reef in No. 1 level is from lft to 2ft in width, and carries good stone.— The United Victory Company : The stone shows good gold freely. Mauetown.— The Tipperary Company cleaned up last' week, and the return was 2950z of retorted gold. — Tho Homeward-Bound Company have some good stone in the face of the low level.— The Ladye Fayre Company will shortly commence to crush a large body of stone
