A special meeting of the Presbytery of Dun•din was held on Monday afternoon for the purpose of considering the resignation of the Key. A. G. Boyd as paator of the South Dunedin Church. There was a good ' attendance of members. The Rev. L. Mackie was voted to the chair. There were also present Messrs Reid, Caddie, Cameron, and Mackie, who waited on the Presbytery as a deputation from the South Dunedin congregation in the matter. Mr Reid, in the course of his remarks, said that they were all' sorry to know their pastor had made up his mind to leave them on account of the state of .the health of his family. The speaker also spoke in eulogistic terms of the work done by the Rev. Mr Boyd in South Dunedin, and stated that though the congregation was at the present time numerically not so strong as when he came to the district, it was materially much stronger. Several members of the Presbytery also spoke of the gqod work done by the reverend gentleman' not only in South DunedhVbut also in other parts of 1 the province, and Dr Stuart expressed a wish' that he would be equally successful in his new sphere of labour, the United' States, where, he remarked, they needed able men and good solid divines. The Rev. M. Watt was appointed Moderator of the congregation in the meantime.
