i<Miit<.n. --I'he Welcome Company's return for tho week was 12980z of amalgam from 90 tons of stone. The rich body of quarto discovered in No. 6 level is being driven upon.— ihe Uoldon Treasure Company's reef, in the lower section, is from two to five feet ia thickness. -The Fiery Cross Company are continuing tho cross-cut to the line of reef.— The Imperial Coin* pany have obtained some fair stone from ttie sinking, -The Golden Fleece Company's mine looks well.-' The Nil Despernndum Company are sinking below' No. 6 level. The r'euf ia about five feet thick, a7jd uarrtes good payable gold.— Tne Kesult Company's No. 4 level is expected to cut the lino of reef when extended another 60 feet.— The Keep-it-Dairk ".'Com-' puny are crushing, and the usual woVks'afe beingf proceeded with in the mine -The Inkerman" •Company have driven their No. 3 level over 140 feet. Lyell. -The Lnited Alpine Company s return vraa 150oz of amalgam from 212 tons of, stone* (plated onl>). No. 5 level is being extended northwards. Above, stoping is being carried on, the reof being 2& feet iv thickness.— The Crawus Company are making good progress with opening up their mine. t Macetown.- The L*d>e Fay re Company's 'return* with the scraping* recently retorted, yielded 24602! 1 16dwfc. The Company intond makingTirrangemoiits for a crushing, and have alrtady 140 tona of stono to ! grass. —The Mountain Maid Company had a trial crush* ! ing of eight tons of stone, which yielded 16oz 12dwt. j —The Sis tew claim also had a trial crushing of two tons of quartz, which yielded 2oz 16dwt.— Nothing new to report from the other mines.
