Land Sale at Gore.

Bastings; Lea'ry, and Co., in conjunction with M'Ardell and Co. (Invercargill), Matson Iband Co. (Christchurch), and Canning, Green, and Souness (Gore), by instructions ;from the New Zealand Agricultural Company, offered a^uction a number of farms, town sections, and homesteads, in the rooms of the latter firm, at Gore, last week. There was a large attendance, and there weer numerous buyers for the township sections, the bidding in many instances being very brisk. The tirst allotment sold was a quarter-acre corner section in the township of ftiversdale. This was started at £20, and knocked down, after a spirited competition, amid much applause to Mr D. F. Monaghan, for £105. The bid for an acre section, in survey Wo. b. was disputed, and on being put up again it was run up as high as £33, and sold amid great excitement. ' Mr H.
