secretary of the InverorgiU Draught Club, tendered the thaufts ol the Club to the librarian, to be conveyod to tho comtnittep, for the privilege of holding the match in the reading room. The Rivorton playeis appeared highly sfttiefiod at their victory, and anticipate that the InvercirgUl players will muster a good team for a return match. STIRLING V. KAITANGATA. The return match between six players of the Stirling district and a like number representing the Kaitangata district took place in Gray's Hotel, Kaitangata, on Saturday, 22nd ult. As in the previous match, the number of games played between each couple wsb four, and the result proved a hollow victory for the Stirling champions, the scores being :— KAITANGATA. 2 wins. 10 lost. 2 drawn. STIRLING. 12 wins. 2 lost. 2 drawn. In the previous match the Stirling play era woi only by one game, so they must have improved considerably in the interval, as almost the same players ware engaged in both matches. The Kaitarjgata representatives possess good pluck, as they intend having another " go " with their opponents on some future day, being convinced that, though vanquished atprenent, they are not subdued. We heartily wish them success in their nexb encounter. After the match was over a most agreeable evening was spent, and the visitors were hospitably entertained by the resident players.
