THE BANQUET.
The meeting closed, and then adjourned to Baiting? White Howe Hotel, where a banquet £uheM in honour of the occasion, the dutnot Xera and delegates being the guests of Court Bruce. The chair was occupied by Bro H. White, supported on hw ?s* .^7 t^.C.E., Bro Ibbotson, aud on bis left by the D.S., Bro Woodland. The croupiers were the 0.R., Bro Butler, and secretary, Bro J. Dickson. After the übu»l loyal toasts were given by *h7 Chairman, Bro Fkaer, of Court Star of TuVeEave the health of the district officers in very eulogistic terms. The toast was reSondfd to by the D.C.R., Bro Ibbotson. Bro BOTMagave "The Mercantile Interest." Besponded to by Bro TatLOB. The Chairman proposed the health of the delegates, and said he was happy to see among X company two old faces-tb O3e of Bro Geddes -«nd Bro Woodland, who came up to open the Court 15 years ago, and he hoped he would meet them again 15 years hence at the festive board as Foresters. , , , , Bro Gbddes responded on behalf of the deleo Woodiand proposed the health of ■Court Bruce. He wag proud to be present on that occasion, and the more so through having the honour of proposing this toast, m he waa one of the district officers with Bro Geddes, who opened the Court 15 years ago, and was proud to ccc it bad prospered in the manner it 4»dj this being thefirst Court opened in the country by the United Otago Diatnct. He •was correct in saying that it waa one of the Courts that stood in the front rank. He waa Klad to see a few of the old faces that were present on that occasion, and as the Chairman had mid, he hoped they would meet again 15 years >ence in the Bame convivial manner. Other toasts were given, and a very pleasant evening was spent. ____________
