Winner of Hack Race on the firßt day not to be entered ; once round the course; heats. RULES. Qualifications and nominations for all the handicaps (excepting the Consolation) will be received by the Secretary in sealed covera addressed to him at the Southland Olub Hotel, Invercargill, up to 8 o'clock p.m., on Thursday, 4th March. Weights (Ssuthland Jockey Club Handicap excepted, which will be declared on j night of first day's racing), to be published j in Southland Times and News on Thursday, Ilth March. | General entries to be made to the Secretary as above, on Tuesday, 9th March, before 8 o'clock p.m., with description and ages of all hcrsea, and colours of riders. Ho entries will be received for any of the raoes except upon these conditions, and all clams and objections arising out of the racing shall be deoided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. In the event of any person entering a protest, a sum of £2 2a must be lodged with the Secretary or one of the Stewards before any such protest is considered. This sum to be forfeited to the funds ef the Olub should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club strictly adhe c 1 to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unlesa the latter be qualified aa the hona fide property of a subscriber of two guineas to the Race Fund. Five per csnt. will be deducted from the gross moneys paid, in accordance with the programme, for expenses. All entrance money to go to Race Fund, Three borsea to be entered or no public money to be added. Any horse walking over will receive only 50 per oent. of the stakes.
