Friendly Societies.

The recent 1.0. G.T. eleotiona in the Dunedin district have rasultad in Bros F. G..Odell, Rev. T. Roseby, L.L.D., and W. Carr being chosen regular representatives to the annual session of the Grand Lodge, which ia to he held at Christchurch, commencing on the 9fch of December. Bro Charles Muir was duly elected District; Deputy for the Dunedin district for the ensuing year.

Thel.O.G-.T. sports at Milton on Monday, in Mr M'Gills' paddock, were fairly attended, but the enjoyment of the public was spoiled by the high wind. The various events were well contested, and the decisions of the judge, appeared to give every satisfaction.

The Taieri Lodge, 620 S.C., held 'ifcs annua election of officers in the lodge-room on tha night of the 6th, tesullicg as follows:— Bro, Peter Dow, R.W.M. ; Bro. ,G. W. Williams, W.S.W. ; Bra. Jas. Godwin, W.J.W. ; Bro. J. O. Hodges, treasurer ; Bro. John Spaldinpr, S.D. : Bro. Thos. Hendwood, J.D. ; Bro. J. S. Walker, tyler.

The Master-elect appointed Bro. W. H. Cox, P.S.W. as W.D.M., and Bro. Wm. Snow, R.J.W.. as W.S.M. The office of Secretary was left unfilled for the time being.

The installation will take place on 18 th Decsmber. It was decided to celebrate the, anniversary of tho Lodge by a ball, aud from the influential and onerg^tic committee appointed, we have no doub's th*t it will go off with as much eclat as did the last.
