BLUESKIN SHOW.

Tho eleventh Show of the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on the lObh, in a paddock north of the township. The weather was lovely, and the attendance was good, probably 700 or 800 people being present. In cattle the show was altogether beyond the average. In Ayrshirerf, particularly, the number and quality of the exhibits was greater and better than at anything less than a metropolitau show hitherto held. Mr Peter Orr, of Oamaru, was the principal prize-taker with his well-known stock. A number of the cattle did not show to advantage, through beiiig in poor condition. Of these, a cow belonging to Mr Pullar was thought by many to be equal, if not superior, to anything on the ground. She was bought by Mr R. Charters, of the Taieri, and in a few weeks on his pastures, will look another animal. In horses, Rob the Ranter was the best of the draught, and Mr Dod«on'n Satirist had no great difficulty in carrying off the honours in the thoroughbred entire class. His well - known mare, Envy, was also shown, and took first prize in her class. A feature in the show was the giving of a sweepstake prize to what was considered the best animal exhibited in the class, and the judges had a good deal of difficulty in. determining Ihe results in these sections. Only five or six prizes were offVred for sheep, and there were exhibits in only two classes. A great deal of interest was taken in the dairy produce competition; the entries in this clas3 being apparently, by their number, from every farm-house in the district. Mrs Colin M'Donald carried off the principal prizes. A cup given by Messrs P. Hayman and Co. for the largest prize-taker in cattle was carried off by Mr W. Cowan, Mr K. B. Ferguson running him hard ; and a saddle, presented by Messrs Briscoe and Co., for the winner of the greatest number of points in horses, was also taken by Mr Ferguson. The Hon. G. M'Lean was among the exhibitors, aud showed some excellent stock, iv horses especially. The prize for jumping hacks was awarded to a pony belonging to Mr R. Wilson, of Dunedin, Mr Cockerill'u horse being adjudged equal to him, buc refusing to jump to decide the tie. The show passed off very successfully on the whole. The prize-list is given below. At the time our reporter left, a prize for the best hack for tiltng had still to be awarded. Prize List. CATTLE. Judges—Messrs Andrew and Cullen (Taieri), and Matheson (Peninsula).
