TAIERI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of members of the Taieri Agricultural Association was held on the 10th, at Mosgiel. There was a small attendance of members. Mr James Cullen, President of the Society, occupied the chair. RBSEItVK AT GRKVTOWN. The Chairman reported that after consultation with Mr Donald Reid, regarding the proposal to vest the Society's reserve in Qreytown in trustees, the subcommittee appointed to look into the matter had •come to the conclusion the best coune would be to vest tho ground directly in the Society. It was agreed to leave to the same sub-committee the task of taking the necesßary action in the matter, snow ground. It was agreed to take stops to put the ground the Society holds upon lease, near Mosgiol church, into order, so that the Show might this year bo held upon it. It was stated that there would be nothing to prevent this, unless there happened to be much rain previous to the day of Show, December 26th. FINANCES. The Secretary reported that, including members' subscriptions, gate money, and entry fees, tho amount which could safely bo calculated upon aa at tho disposal of the Society would be about £200. THE PROGRAMME. The meeting then considered the prize list, with the view of determining what amendments therein were necessary. A number of alterations were made, most of them of small importance. In the Implements' Class, on the motion of Mr Shand, it wss agreed to give additional prizes for reapers and binders— a first one of £10, and a second one of £5. Mr Smith moved that a prize of a silver medal be offered for road-scoops.— Carried. JUDGKS. Judges in the various classes were nominated, and the Secretary was instructed to write to the gentlemen named, asking their acceptance of tlie office. This concluded the business, with the sxception of one or two matters of little importance.
