The American barque S. R. Lynun was towed up to the anchorage on November 14 by the p s. Koputai. She brings 1000 tons of cargo for this Dort and AuckUnd, 600 tons being for Dunedin. and the residue for ths Northern port. CapUin Piukham reports leaving New York on July 20th, expeneuced fresh westerly winds for the first 24 hours after leaving, and thence souther y wLtds for a few days, followed by light westerly winds which carried her into the north-east Trades in latitude IS N. on August 10th. The Trades gave out on the lSth in latitude ION., and were succeeded by light variable winds and weather, which held tillshereachedlatitude -2 N. She took uptheS K. Trades on ths same day, and cro-sed the Equator an the sth of September, 47 days oat, in longitude 29 W. ; carried strong Trades to latitude 18 S., and lo3t them on the fifty-seventh day out ; thencs she had variables for about a week, and took the first of the westerly winds in latitude 32 S., longitude 30 W., and crossed Ithe merid'an of Greenwich iv latitude 37 S. Rounded the Cape of Good Hops on September 29th. in latitude 39 S. ; carried tho passage winds from S.W.to N.W. ri?ht across the Southern Ocean : ran down her easting on the 44th parallel of south latitude, crossed "the meridian of Cape Lsuwin on October 27th and passed the Island of Tasmania on November 4th ; had frpsh W. and N.W. winds right up to the land, and experienced a heavy gale from the N.W. on the 11th inst. ; hove-to for 12 hours and sighted the Solanders at 6 p.m. on the following day ; thence she had light westerly winds, and passed the S.E. end of Stewart's Island at 7 a.m. on the 13th, had a fresh westerly breeze along the coast, and made the He=ds at midnight on the same day ; stood off and on ali night, and was towed iv to the harbour on the 14th.
