PRINCESS THEATRE.
The Gaiety Burlesque and Comedy Company, under the direction of Mr J. L. Hall, gave their openiog performance on Monday! The pieces chosen for the debut of the Company were Byron's comedy, "Old Sailors," and the burlesque of " Cinderella," both 'of which went extremely well, and afforded a most enjoyable, although somewhat lengthy evening's entertainment. Mr Hall received a very warm reception on his first appearing on the stage, as did Mra Hall. Some of the company are familiar to Dunedin Theatre goers— others have not appeared before in Dunedin. The troupe is a compact one, and wall able to carry through the piece 3 they intend producing. When we have seen more of the company's performances, we shall notice in detail the merits of the principal performers. Suffice it to say just now, that the entertainment last evening was very well received by ihe audience, and the different artists tried their best to carry through the pieces named with spirit.
