The Naval Brigade held their annual meeting at the Bull and Mouth Hotel, on Friday night, Captain Smith in the chair. The following were elected the General Committee for the current year : — P. O. Jamieson, treasurer ; v P. O. Wynks, secretary. Committee:— Pi-' O: 1 Lyons, P. O. Barber, P. O. Notman, P. O. Mackenzie, P. O. Cockburn, .and GunnerCampbell. - The Shooting-Committee consists of P. O. Mackenzie, Gunners Campbell, Jack, and Black ; and the' Boat Committee of Gunners Pratt, Bevan, and Wilson. Two honorary members and one working member having been elected, Lieut. Jacobs presented a large number of the men with sailors' knives, especially ordered from England, for efficiency. The Treasurer's Report showed the Company to be in a very flourishing condition and with a balance to ita credit, which ia very satisfactory, seeing that eighteen months ago .it was nearly £50 in debt, 'and during the past year has expended £136 in boats, erected a temporary battery and magazine at Lawyer's Head, and uniformed 67 men. Major Stavely, who was present by invitation, was unanimously elected a life member, and received the Company's certificate, Captain Smith remarking that the Company was desirous that Mr Stavely, who had been associated with it from its start and received his promotion from it, should continue to be connected with them. The Major afterwards presented P. O. M'Naughton's medal to the Brigade. It is for the best cutlass drill, and at the fourth competition was won by Gunner Black.
