OTAGO ROWING ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Otago Bowing and {Sailing Association was held In the Pier Hotel on Thursday evening last. The meeting was j largely attended by the Rowing community. ! Much surprise was manifested by those present at the non-attendance of the majority of the yachtsmen. It ia to be hoped they will put in a better appearance at the. next meeting. Mr L. 0. BeaTwas voted to the chair. The business of the meeting was to receive new names and to elect office-bearers' for the coming season. About thirty .new names were added to the list of 'members, who now number somewhere over 70. This apeaks well for the success of the Association, considering the short time it has ,been started. His Honour Mr Justice Williams was proposed' as President, and unanimously elected. Rev. T. L. Stanley and L 7 O. J Beal, Esq., were elected Vice-Preaidents. Mr Jobson was appointed Treasurer, and Mr Fuller Secretary. The Committee will consist of the following gentlemen," with power to add to their number, if ' found neces-; sary :— Messrs Tancred, Fenwick, Aspinall, Green, Dicker, W. Mills, B. 0. Haggitt, Street, G. Mason, Jan., D. Johnston; W. Guthrie, K. Wallace, Mangford, ,C. H. Cutten, H. Grant, W. Burke, Paterson, Murdoch, Mackley, «T. Cook r Baxter, Hope, P. Provo, C. S.
