DISGUSTING ENCOUNTER.

The South Pacilic Times, publishes! at Callao, Peru, on a late date, reports th.it a bull-fight took place the day previous (Sunday) in that city, in which a Chinamau aud two women took cart. Previous to the appearance of these performers, however, two or three bulls were brought out and worried for half-an hour each. One was slowly tortured to death, after being stabbed in about twenty different places, but the other two, after undergoing the same process, refused to die, and were driven bleeding and wearied baok to the yard. The fourth was a cele>

brated bull, and the Chinaman took particulaily good care to keep far enough from it to prevenb damage to either party. At last the chief attraction of the day appeared. 4. chola woman on horseback took her position in the centra of the arena to ' ' receive " the bull, as it is termed, on his being let loose. She did re« ceive him, but in a way she had not expected. The whole affair was over in a minute. Directly the bull charged, her horse turned tail, and the bull knocked both him and the equestrienne over. The horse stood still ; the bull proceeded to gore the unfortunate woman, and the gallant bull-tighters amused themselves by keeping a respectful distance from the animal. The bull was prevented killing the woman by his attention being drawn off by the appearance of a volunteer with a poncho, who was also knocked down for his pains. At tMs stage of the proceedings there was intense excitement, and the bull was finally dispatched.
