THE PENINSULA AND OCEAN BEACH RAILWAY.

A meeting of the Provisional Committee of the Dunedin, Peninsula, and Ocean Beach Railway Company was held at the Provincial Hotel on Wednesday last. Present — Mr James Smith (in the chair), Mr Bradshaw (Hon. Sec), and Messrs Janus MTndoe, G. W. Eliott, D. Proudfoot, James Seaton, R. M. Robertson, and George Robertson (of the Heads. THE PROSPECTUS. A prospectus was submitted, and, after some slight amendments were made in it, was adopted. It will be published in the course of a few days. DEPUTATION TO THE SUPERINTENDENT, It was resolved — "That a deputation, consisting of Mr James Smith, Mr R. M. Robertson, Mr G-. W. Elliott, Mr D. Proud, foot, and the Hon. Secretary (Mr J. B. Brad* shaw), wait on His Honour the Superintendent with the object of ascertaining wha. amount of assistance the Government will give to the Company in respect to concessions of land and for the working of the Company's line by Government plant." The deputation is to wait on His Honour at his earliest convenience, and Mr Bradshaw is to arrange with His Honour as to the time. AN OFFER OF LAND, It is proposed that the line to the Ocean Beach pass through the property lately acquired by Mr D. Proudfoot from Mr Brgg. Mr Proudfoot intimated his willingness to give the Company all the land required from him free.
