DUNEDIN TRADE REPORT.
Otago Witness Office, July 14th, 1864. The business of the past week has been unmarked by any changes of importance. Dullness prevails, and it is feared that no great improvement can take place until the roads are iv a better condition. A v umber of orders forwarded from the Dunstan dining the week, in consequence of the falling of the river, have been countermanded, owing to a sudden and unexpected rise.^
An arrival, during the week of 250 tons of Hour, from Auckland, has tended to lower prices slightly. The best brands are worth £32 to £3-2 10s ; aud even at that, very little has changed hands, holders feeling sanguine that no further decline will take place at present.
A good quantity of tea has changed hands privately during the week at an advance on old quotations.
