TOKOMAIRIRO AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The first Exhibition of Stock was held in Mr. Goodall's Paddocks on Wednesday last, and was well attended. The Stock generally was in very good condition, but there wa* strong evidence that the breed of Cattle is capable of great improvement ; and there is no doubt that meetings Fuch as the present are calculated to produce that effect. The Judges were- Messrs. G. -Murray, A. Sutherland, M'Master, 'Duff, and Hepburn, V.S., and theif arduous duties were very satisfactorily performed. . , . For Cheese and Butter Mr William Gray of Bridisholme Avas the successful competitor, while Mr Black carried off the special prize for Garden produce. Mr. Poppelwell exhibited some fine Wool ; three Merino fleeces weighed respectively 11, 13, and 14 lbs. He also exhibited four excellent samples of Wheat, of which the Judges highly commended the Winter Lammas (Tritricum Hibernum.) Mr. Saunders of Motupipi showed two very fine seedling Apples ; and hundreds beheld with satisfaction and wonder the performance of Mr. Dewe's (Burgiss and Key's) Reaping Machine.
