Otautau Stock Sale.
There were about 17,000 sh.ep yarded for Thursday's sale, and prices were well maintained throughout, although selling was continued till well after 6 p.m. If anything prices for old ewes was slightly easier, say about 6d to ls a head, but young sheep brought good prices. Several speoiaily advertised lines attracted considerable attention, and splendid prices were tbe result. A big yarding of the difierent lots of annual draft [sheep off the high oountry runs 'met with a good sale, the sheep being penned m good condition; The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., sold on behalf of the Trustees of the late Wm... Bradley a line of 75 two-<tooth ewes at the great figure of 47s 3d, while the same firm sold on behalf of Mr R. W. X, Brad ley a further line of 77 twotooth.ewes at 45s 6d, also obtaining 48s for -168 s.m ewes on account of the Trustees m the Estate cf Wm. Messrs Dalgcty and Co-, Ltd., sold a particularly nice line of 209 wether lambs oo account of Mr H. Gorrie, Waiau, at 29s 3d. Meesr_ J. R. Mills and Son sold a nice line of 119 two tooth ewes on account of Mr McLaren, Eastern Bush, at 46s OJ. Messrs Homer Bros, sod through tbe National Mortgage and Agency Company a line of 2(35 two* tooth ewes at 10a. A good many rams were yarded, a big percentage of tbem boing aged and decrepit, aud sellers bad a hard job to quit them at any price.
