During the late month, owing to the Christmas holidays with its festivities interveniug, the vagaries of the weather, and the late and prolonged shearing, the Stock marKet has been quite disorganised, and consequently ifc has been almost impossible hitherto to foretell its future tone, as few sales have taken place that would serve as an .indication of fche price obtainable. I the Western District Stations have sold their annual draft of ewes from 28. 6d, and tbe current value of station wether lambs is from 16s to 17s Gd. Also, we are glad to report ihe presence of several gjod buyers from the North Island dnribg ihe week, wheb iti a healthy sign. Thoir inquiries were mostly for ewes and lamb?. Several sales were effected at pnces ranging from 17. fid to 22s 6d, ail counted, and according to quality. They report luxuriant feed m Canterbury and Nortb Otago, aod an increasing demand for 2 tooth ewe 3 and wethers at from 27s to 80 _ (shorn). Owing to exress supply, thero was a drop of about 2s Gd per hsad m fit sheep at Wallacetown oa Tuesday, but we are assured that this was only temporary.
