Otantau School Committee
The usual monthly meeting of the above committee was he'd last "ight, there being present: — Messrs Saunders (chairman), Boyd, Harrington, Uobertsbaw and Stevens.
Tho headmaster drew attention to the unsatisfactory state of the outhouses, aud after considerable discussion on the • matter, it was resolved that Messrs Saunders and Robertehaw wait upon the Town Board, and ask them to push ahead with the sanitary service.
It was also resolved that the committee grant the extra amount as required by the Board for painting school fpnce when erected, and that the committee wait upon Mr McOaw when m Otautau this week, and go into several matters with him relative to the interests of the school.
The question of repairs to one of play sheds, damaged by stray horses and cattle, w;as held over until the fence was erected.
A special meeting is to be held this week to deal with applications for the position of first assistant. The roll now stands at 210, and the average attendance 197,
