Drowning Accident.

A very sad. drowning accident occurred at Otautau this afternoon, by which Marion, only daughter of Mr A. Liddell, Otautau, about 3 yeare old, lost her life. From the meagre particulars available, it appears that the little child by some means got into the river, and was immediately carried away by the current. The body was noticed by Mr Holt and others who were on the opposite bank, and immediately procured. Artificial respiration was tried until Dr Todd arrived, and pronounced life to be extinct. The deepest sympathy is extended to Mr and Mr Liddell m their sad bereavement.
