TARANAKI FINAL STAR PREVAILS Star (North) staged a last minute recovery in the Taranaki senior Rugby Championship final at Eltham on Saturday to score a try just before time to defeat Athletic (South) by 11 points to 9. There was a huge crowd and the game was always interesting and exciting. Coekerell's boot •failed for once, otherwise Athletic may have won. Pihama Junior Draw In a friendly practice match played at Pihama on Saturday, the Coastal Champions were fully extended by Kaponga, the game ending in a draw 5 all. Another draw, in the Taranaki Fourth errade final, was recorded when Okaiawa and Star finished with G points each.
