Scout Church Parade. There will be a Scout Parade at the Methodist Church next Sunday morning in connection with the Church Anniversary. Fewer Shut-down Sunday. An urgent appeal is made to all consumers to honour a shut-down period from 1 to 4 pan. on Sunday in order to allow dairy factories to be fed by the Opunake Power Board’s own plant. No power will be available from the State Hydro-electric Dept, during that period. An advertisemerit appears in- this issue. Week-end Entertainment, On Saturday the fortnightly Euchre Tournament conducted by the Federal Band takes place in St. Patrick’s Hall .and on Monday the public variety Concert arranged by the Opunake H.S.A. will be held in the Drill Hall. Good entertainment is assured at both functions. Rs:3 Cross Clothing Drive. Residents of the district are advised that the Opunake Red Cross is making an appeal for warm and clean clothing for children up to the age of two years. The clothing will be sent to the British Red Cross and all Iffifts should-lie'’ forwarded before November 12th (see advertisement.) Soil Erosion. R.A.0.8. Lodge. Tlie usual fortnightly meeting of the R.A.O-B. Lodge was held in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday, Bro. H. Keys, C.P. presiding over a large attendance of members. Two new members were initiated. The report of the sub-committee set up to arrange the Children’s Christmas Party was approved. Impromptu items and an appropriate supper was enjoyed after the usual lodge business had been attended to, A presentation to Knight A. A. Hume of three bars to his attendance Jewel was also made.
