RAHOTU FAREWELL ANGLICAN GUILD MEMBER Prior to leaving the district Mrs. S. Goodin was entertained by members of the Rahotu Anglican Women’s Guild at the home of the president, Mrs. H. G. Clarke, Rahotu, Songs were given by Mrs. T, Larking, Okato, Mrs. H. Engetrom and Misses R. Rangitaua and M. Pataua. Mrs. R. Ross was accompanist. Competitions were won by Mrs. T. Larking and Mrs. R. Butler. Mrs. H. Clarke spoke in appreciation of the work of the guest of honour, and presented her with a small gift and a shoulder spray.
PUNGAREHU RED GROSS FOOD PARCELS Miss N. Fleming presided over a fair attendance of members at the Pungarehu sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, It was decided to continue sending one fooa parcel per week to Great Britain and a donation of £l2 was to be spent on food parcels to be sent to Britain for Christmas. One of the sub-centre’s first members, Mrs. S. Goodin, was farewelled and a floral .token representing the Red Cross ' was nresented to her by the secretary, Mrs. J. Watt. Afterwards Mrs. Goodin was the guest of members at afternaon tea. Te Kiri Women’s Institute There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting which was presided over by Mrs. Dormer. For the next executive meeting (South Taranaki) Mesdamea Sexton and Coupe were appoint ed delegates. Competition winners were: Oven cloth, Mrs. Sexton. Cheese straws, Mrs. Smith. Bloom, Mrs. B. M. Coxhead. The hostesses were Mesdames Collins, Coxhead and Sayed.
