PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

ANNUAL MEETING BOARD OF MANAGERS The Annual Meeting of parishioners of the St. Andrews’ Presytenan Church was held in tie, Church, Opunake, on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance of members from he circuit which includes Opunake, Awatuna, Kaponga and Pihama. The Moderator, the Rev. R. Miller (Manaia) presided and Mr, T. McCarrison (Session Clerk) read the minutes. The session report expressed thanks to the Heavenly Father for the continued manifestations of blessings on the, work which' had _ prospered and expanded in all districts. Services had been Feld regularly at Opunake, Kaponga, Awatuna, Pihama and Riverlea. A morning service for young people had also been instituted at Opunake. Sacrament had been held regularly each quarter at all stations. The resignation of Mr. S. B. Dimn was recorded with regret. Reference fo The Bible and Sunday School ‘ classes, P.W.M.U. and Ladies’ Guild activities were also contained in the report. Special thanks to the organist, Mr. W. D. Richards, in appreciation of this service, was also recorded.

A review of the treasurer’s report (Mr, H. E. Collins) showed that the church finances were in a healthy state. A good deal of maintenance work on church buildings had been carried out during the year. The secretary, Mr. R. R. Brown and the Board oT Managers were congratulated on the excellent report and sound financial position of the church. A satisfactory increase in the attendance at all district Bible class meetings was noted and Rev, Berry’s good work in this respect was fully recognised. The Moderator was also thanked for his continued interest in church work in the district. District Bible class reports, Ladies’ Guild and P.W.M.U. reports were also read” and approved. The Ministerial review of the year’s work was also given by Rev. Berry and the Moderator congratulated the ladies and members of the youth organisations on the excellent work carried out during-tEe year #> It was.deoided that the Board be asked' to report on all necessary repairs and improvemepts to church buildings in the circuit, and especially with reg v ard to the Manse.
